Somerville Community Fridge Case Study
Goal: Propose a website for the local non-profit "Somerville Community Fridge". Create screen sizes for each screen to showcase responsive design.

Target Audience: Users who want to request items to be stocked in the community fridge and users that want to find out what to donate to the community fridge.

My Role(s): UX Designer/ Researcher.
01
Personas
I created two personas to represent the two groups that make up the target audience.

02
User Journies
I imagined the users' journies to find pain points and features that could be added to the design.

03
Paper Wireframes
Here are some of my initial ideas on paper. I wanted to work using "mobile-first design" so these are only the mobile version's paper wireframes.

05
User Research
This round of user testing was especially helpful in allowing me to understand what was and was not intuitive to the user. Below you can see my findings and an example of how a screen changed based on this feedback.

07
Desktop and Tablet
Mockup &
Hi-Fi Prototype
It was important to me to ensure that the features that were successful in the mobile version translated to the desktop and tablet versions of this design. I rearranged and consolidated some of the information from the sidebar menu to make it more intuitive and I changed the rating pages to be more desktop and tablet friendly.

08
Conclusion
I ran another round of user testing with all of the above hi-fi prototypes and the results came back unanimously positive. There were some minor stylistic changes that I made after that round of testing. Overall I was very satisfied with how this design turned out. I learned a lot including tablet screen design and interactive web design.
